In the case of Fletcher v. Peck the Supreme Court:

Law

Answer:

d. upheld the sanctity of contracts.

Explanation:

The case was caused by the fraudulent nature of the Yazoo land sale in Georgia. In 1795, lawyers in Georgia agreed to sell the Yazoo land to about four companies. John Peck was among those who acquired a part of the Yazoo lands. On reselling the land to Robert Fletcher some years later, it was discovered that the Yazoo Land Act had been repealed because the lawyers involved were bribed. Fletcher thus argued in court that because the original Act had been repealed, John Peck had no right to sell the land.

When the case was brought to the United States Supreme court, the judges unanimously upheld the sanctity of contracts stating that the contract was binding despite the fraudulent activities of the lawyers involved. Therefore, the Georgian state did not have the powers to invalidate a contract that had legal backing.

Project understanding police history a timeline project
Alex787 [66]

Answer:

Understanding police history a timeline is discussed below in details.

Explanation:

The evolution of policing in the United States nearly watched the improvement of policing in England. In the ancient settlements policing practiced two modes. It was both simple and cooperative, which is referred to as the private-for-profit guarding or watch, which is called The Big Stick.

The first publicly financed, regulated police organization with officers on service full-time was established in Boston in 1838. Boston was a big shipping trading hub, and affairs had been renting people to defend their assets and safeguard the transportation of assets from the harbor of Boston to other regions.

The doctrine of strict product liability does not apply to ______ law
Rasek [7]

Answer:

Advertising Agencies

Explanation:

Remember the product liability doctrine is a claim by a user or buyer of a product because of injury or damage caused by a defective product of a manufacturer after provision of reasonable proof.

Because Advertising Agencies do not produce these products but only advertise, the doctrine of strict product liability does not apply to advertising agency law which is only dedicated to creating, planning, and handling advertising and other forms of promotion and marketing for clients.
