You decide to put $150 in a savings account to save for a $3,000 down payment on a new car. If the account has an interest rate

of 2.5% per year and is compounded monthly, how long does it take you to earn $3,000 without depositing any additional funds?
(I know it's 119.954 years, but I have no idea how to get that)

The formula is
A=p (1+r/k)^kt
A future value 3000
P present value 150
R interest rate 0.025
T time?
3000=150 (1+0.025/12)^12t
Solve for t
3000/150=(1+0.025/12)^12t
Take the log
Log (3000/150)=log (1+0.025/12)×12t
12t=Log (3000/150)÷log (1+0.025/12)
T=(log(3,000÷150)÷log(1+0.025÷12))÷12
T=119.95 years

Answer:

It take 119.954 years to earn $ 3000 without depositing any additional funds.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Principal Amount, P = $ 150

Amount, A = $ 3000

Rate of interest, R = 2.5% compounded monthly.

To find: Time, T

We use formula of Compound interest formula,

A=P(1+\frac{R}{100})^n

Where, n is no time interest applied.

Since, It is compounded monthly.

R = 2.5/12 %

n = 12T

3000=150(1+\frac{\frac{2.5}{12}}{100})^{12T}

\frac{3000}{150}=(1+\frac{2.5}{1200})^{12T}

20=(1+\frac{2.5}{1200})^{12T}

Taking log on both sides, we get

log\,20=log\,(1+\frac{2.5}{1200})^{12T}

1.30103=12T\times\,log\,(1.002083)

T=\frac{1.30103}{12\times\,log\,(1.002083)}

T=119.954

Therefore, It take 119.954 years to earn $ 3000 without depositing any additional funds

Let y = 5

5 = 5x

Divide by 5

5/5 =5x/5

1=x

Let y=4

4 =5x

Divide by 5

4/5 =5x/5

4/5 =x

Let y=2

2 =5x

Divide by 5

2/5 =5x/5

Based on concerns raised by his preliminary research, the biologist decides to collect and examine 150 frogs.
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

Answered and explained below

Step-by-step explanation:

A) We are told that frequency of the trait is still 1 in 8. Thus, population proportion; p = 1/8 = 0.125

Sample size; n = 150

Formula for mean is;

μ = np

μ = 150 × 0.125

μ = 18.75

Formula for standard deviation is;

σ = √(np(1 - p))

σ = √(150 × 0.125(1 - 0.125))

σ = √16.40625

σ = 4.05

B) usually, when np ≥ 10 , we make use of normal distribution.

I'm this case, it is 18.75 which is greater than 10.

Thus,we can use a normal model to approximate the distribution.

C) we are told that he found the trait in 22 of the frogs.

Thus;

Proportion is now; 22/150 = 0.1467

This is a higher probability that the initial one of 0.125 and we can say that the trait has become more common.

9 (x-y)^2-9 (x+y)(x-y)
bazaltina [42]
<h2>Answer</h2>

This answer is 18y • (y - 1)

<h2>Explanation</h2>

Step by step solution:

Equation at the end of step 1:

9 (x - y) ^2 - 9 (x^{2} - y^{2})

Equation at the end of step 2:

9 (x^2 + y^2 - 2xy) - 9 (x^2 - y^2)

Equation at the end of step 3:

9x^2 + 9y^2 - 18xy - 9x^2 + 9y^2

Equation at the end of step 4:

After performing basic +, - operation we get:

18y^2 - 18xy

Answer is: 18y. (y – x)

Calculate the area of the following figure correct to 2 decimal places if can show or explain work
grin007 [14]
The way we approach a question like this, is by looking at what portion of the circle we actually have to calculate the area of. We know that a circle is a shape that goes 360 degrees around a point. Therefore we know that, for example, a semicircle, or half a circle, would cover half the amount of degrees. This is important, because as well as covering half the number of degrees, it also covers half the area. For the figure in your picture, we are told that the portion missing from the circle is 90 degrees (shown by the right angle symbol in the center).
this means that 90 degrees worth of the circle is missing, so if we do 360÷90, we find that the answer equals\frac{3}{4}. This means that we are dealing with \frac{3}{4} of a circle. So, we simply find the area of the circle normally, and then multiply by <span>\frac{3}{4}:
The formula for area of a circle is </span>\pi r^{2}, so in this case, it can be said to be \pi (10^{2} ), which is equal to 314.15
Now we simply take that area and multiply it by the fraction we established earlier:
314.15 x \frac{3}{4} = 235.61
Therefore the area of the figure is 235.61 cm^{2}
I hope this helped and please remember to try and not only understand the answer, but the maths that worked it out too :))
