so the car is regularly 6298 bucks, however the dealer will give it to you with 798 down and 168.51 for 48 months, so 48 payments of 168.51.

Now, the interest applies to the latter payments, not the downpayment, the downpayment is not financed, so it has no interest in it, since you're expected to slap the money down right there and then, grab your car and make the other payments... so hmmm

6298 - 798 = 5500

so after the downpayment you're only left to pay 5500, however the monthly payments add up to

168.51*14 = 8088.48

so there's a difference of 8088.48 - 5500 = 2588.48, and that happens over 48 months, so let's use that.

~~~~~~ \textit{Simple Interest Earned} \\\\ I = Prt\qquad \begin{cases} I=\textit{interest earned}\dotfill & \$2588.48\\ P=\textit{original amount deposited}\dotfill & \$5500\\ r=rate\to r\%\to \frac{r}{100}\\ t=months\dotfill &48 \end{cases} \\\\\\ 2588.48 = (5500)(\frac{r}{100})(48)\implies \cfrac{2588.48}{5500(48)}=\cfrac{r}{100}\implies \cfrac{8089}{825000}=\cfrac{r}{100} \\\\\\ \cfrac{808900}{825000}=r\implies \cfrac{8089}{8250}=r\implies \stackrel{\%}{1}\approx r
The volume of a box (v) varies directly with its length (l) if one of the boxes has a volume of 325 cubic inches and a length of
stiks02 [169]
Answer:
The constant of proportionality for the group of boxes is: 25
Step-by-step explanation:
Proportion means that change in one quantity causes change in other quantity. Direct variation means that increase in one quantity causes increase in the other quantity.
Let l be the length and v be the volume
Then according to given statement
V∝l
Removing the proportionality symbol introduces a constant in the equation
V = kl
Putting V = 325 and l = 13
325 =k(13)\\k = \frac{325}{13}\\k = 25
Hence,
The constant of proportionality for the group of boxes is: 25
What is the effect on the graph of the parent function f(x) = x when f(x) is replaced with 4f(x)?
guajiro [1.7K]
Remark
The way this is written I would assume that it means 4*f(x) = x. That may not be entirely the correct assumption to be made.
Step One
Replace f(x) by 4f(x)
4*f(x) = x
Step two
Divide both steps by 4
f(x) = x/4 or (1/4)x
The slope is now 1/4
Discussion
A is incorrect.
The slope has been changed.
B is incorrect
The slope has been changed to 1/4 and the y intercept is still 0
C looks to be the right answer.
D The y intercept is still zero.
Comment
The question is a little hard to interpret. I've read it literally. That means that I have taken the question to mean that only f(x) was altered. If however, the right side was multiplied by 4 as well (as should be done), then the answer is A same slope same intercept. That's because the 4s on the left and right cancel, and the original equation results. I'm going to pick C but don't be surprised if it is A
Which of the following combinations cannot be the side lengths of a triangle?
Neporo4naja [7]
The sum of the two short legs must be at least as long as the longest leg.
This requirement for a triangle is NOT met by the 2nd selection. Those lengths cannot be a triangle.
A Boston subway train traveling at constant speed traveled 10.1 miles in half an hour. What was the speed of the subway train? m
viva [34]
Answer: 20.2 mph
Step-by-step explanation:
Given
Train travels 10.1 miles in half an hour i.e.
Distance d=10.1\ \text{miles}
time t=0.5\ hr
we know, \text{distance=speed}\times\text{time}
Insert the values
\Rightarrow 10.1=v\times 0.5\\\Rightarrow v=20.2\ mph
