Okay, so first, you have to figure out the values of a and b. In this case, you can use the fractions to figure out how many fourths would be equivalent to a certain amount of sevenths. Because you cannot divide seven into fourths, there is only one possible value for each variable.

A = 4
B = 7

Now, you just have to solve and simplify the fraction a-b/b

4-7/7
-3/7

Please take my advice with a grain of salt since I am not entirely sure if this is correct. But, if it is, I would really appreciate it if you could mark me as brainliest :)

What do the values of m and b represent in the equation y mx +b?
xeze [42]

The lettering for m and b in this equation are mostly nonsensical to us today, but here:

m is your slope (rise/run, steepness) and b is the y-intercept (where the line crosses the y-axis aka when x=0).

I need help with is problem.
ad-work [718]

Step-by-step explanation:

A function f(x) can be scaled by a factor of "a" and translated by (h,k) by the relation:

f(x) -> a f(x-h)+k

substitute f(x) by sqrt(x), then

sqrt(x) -> a*sqrt(x-h) + k

So the given equation is derived from f(x) = sqrt(x), hence a radical function.
