The immediate effect of the emancipation proclamation was the effective end of slavery in the 10 confederacy of the United States.

<h3>What was the Emancipation Proclamation?</h3>

  On January 1, 1863 Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the freedom of slaves in the ten Confederate states that were still in rebellion. This proclamation is termed The Emancipation Proclamation.

 

     

The Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order Issued by the president which effectively ended slavery.

     At the issuance of this proclamation, freed slaves were enlisted in the Union Army, and thus increasing the Union's available manpower.
