Answer:

x_{1} =2

x_{2} =4/5

Step-by-step explanation:

a=5, b=-14, c=8

x=\frac{-(-14)+-\sqrt{(-14)^{2}-4(5)(8) } }{2(5)}

x=\frac{14+-\sqrt{196-160} }{10}

x=\frac{14+-\sqrt{36} }{10} =\frac{14+-6}{10}

x_{1} =\frac{14+6}{10} =\frac{20}{10} =2

x_{2} =\frac{14-6}{10} =\frac{8}{10} =\frac{4}{5}
hope this helps

What set of reflections and rotations would carry rectangle abc do onto itself
Tema [17]
The correct answer for this question is "<span>reflect over the y-axis, reflect over the x-axis, rotate 180°." In order to get to the expected transformation, first, flip it over the y-axis which cost 90 degrees of rotation. Then lastly, flip shape from 2nd quadrant over the y-axis. It will now be coincide with the transformation at the 3rd quadrant. Could I be brainlest... I'm a middle schooler who did this so...</span>

write the equation of a line that is perpendicular to the given line and that passes through given point -x+5y=14;(-5,-2) show y
Brums [2.3K]
For perpendicular lines, m2 = -1/m1.

For line -x + 5y = 14 => 5y = x + 14 => y = 1/5 x + 14/5 => slope = 1/5

m2 = -1 / (1/5) = -5

Required equation is y - (-2) = -5(x - (-5))
y + 2 = -5(x + 5)
5x + y = -25 - 2
5x + y = -27

If i = −1 and a and b are non-zero real numbers, what is 1a+bi ?
MariettaO [177]
The i you normally think of (the one = to sqrt(-1) is not the same i they are using here. They are using this i the same way you would use x = - 1 in any normal equation or relation.

1a + b(-1)
