Mathematics

Answer:

6x - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

You messed up from the start.

You added 8 + 3 which gave you 11 and you distributed 11 to 2x and 4. (wrong)

What you were supposed to do was distrubute 3 to 2x and -4 which gives you 6x-12 then you add 8 which gives you 8+6x-12

When you simplify 8+6x-12 you get 6x-4 (answer)

You can prevent this next time by following the orders of PEMDAS

P in pemdas means parenthesis which is what you should have done first.

If mSW = (12x-5)°, mTV= (2x+7)°,and m angle TUV = (6x-19)°, find mSW
svet-max [94.6K]

Given:

Consider the below figure attached with this question.

m(arc(SW)) = (12x-5)°, m(arc(TV))= (2x+7)°,and measure of angle TUV = (6x-19)°.

To find:

The m(arc SW).

Solution:

Intersecting secant theorem: If two secants intersect outside the circle, then the angle on the intersection is half of the difference of the larger subtended arc and smaller subtended arc.

Using Intersecting secant theorem, we get

m\angle TUV=\dfrac{1}{2}(m(arc(SW))-m(arc(TV)))

6x-19=\dfrac{1}{2}((12x-5)-(2x+7))

6x-19=\dfrac{1}{2}(12x-5-2x-7)

6x-19=\dfrac{1}{2}(10x-12)

Multiply both sides by 2.

2(6x-19)=10x-12

12x-38=10x-12

12x-10x=38-12

2x=26

Divide both sides by 2.

x=13

Now, the measure of arc SW is:

m(arc(SW))=(12x-5)^\circ

m(arc(SW))=(12(13)-5)^\circ

m(arc(SW))=(156-5)^\circ

m(arc(SW))=151^\circ

Therefore, the measure of arc SW is 151 degrees.

If the supply of computer engineers increases at the same time that the demand for these workers decreases, what would be the MO
Katen [24]

The <em><u>correct answers</u></em> are:

C) Wages would decline as the competition for jobs increases; and C) a monopoly in the production of that medication.

Explanation:

If we have a surplus of employees for a decrease in the amount of jobs, it is likely that employers will lower wages, since there is no difficulty in finding employees.

If one company produces a new drug, and no other companies are producing it, there could potentially be a monopoly for that drug.

PLEASE HELP !
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

5x + 4y - 20 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Find the two points given: (0,5) and (4,0)

2. Find the slope of the line:

      m = \frac{5-0}{0-4} = \frac{-5}{4}

3. Find y intercept by plugging in one point into the y-intercept form

      y = (-5/4) x + b

      0 = (-5/4) (4) + b

      b = 5

4. Write out the equation in y-intercept form

      y = (-5/4) x + 5

5. Rewrite it in Ax + By + C = 0 form

        (5/4) x + y - 5 = 0

6. Since A B C all need to be integers, multiply the whole equation by 4

       5x + 4y - 20 = 0

What is the area of the figure below?
frutty [35]

Answer:

D. 69.5 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the figure = area of the triangle + area of the rectangle

= ½*b*h + L*W

Where,

b = 5 ft

h = 13 - 6 = 7 ft

L = 13 ft

W = 4 ft

Plug in the values

Area = ½*5*7 + 13*4

Area = 17.5 + 52

Area = 69.5 ft²
