The main reason that wolves were exterminated from much of their habitat is that wolves used to bring a lot of fear to humans, and also they were a big problem when it came to stealing chicken and turkeys off peoples farms.

A person might get a lot of money for bringing in a dead wolf. This was called bounty hunting. Now, it is considered illegal in most countries, because due to the fact there was so much bounty hunting, wolves were starting to go exstinct.

People soon figured wolves werent as dangerous as they thought anyways, though they were a menace when it came to stealing chickens, and turkeys from their farms.
