Answer:

The correct answer is A, the Shang social order.

Explanation:

It can't be C, the feudal system, because that relates to Europe. It can't be B, the Chinese dynastic cycle, because that relates to ancestry. It cannot be D, the Egyptian hierarchy, because the Mandate of Heaven was created in China, the answer legitimately has the word "Egypt" in there. So, you are left with A, the Shang social order, which makes since I previously mentioned that the Mandate of Heaven was created in China.

What urban problems discussed in your textbook does riis touch upon in this passage?
antoniya [11.8K]
First of all, the passage mentions street children by saying "children pitching pennies" and "kicks and cuffs are their daily diet". Also, pollution is touched in this passage as it mentions "summer stenches" which are bad smells that come because of urbanization and the drains that have foul smells (hence they mention "sink"). We also see how neighborhood noises and noisy people from all around the area show up in urbanized areas because of cramped spaces. Hence, quarreling is mentioned here as well as instances of profanity.

What was the attitude of Americans towards African Americans at the time of the Spanish American War? How had the treatment of A
Marizza181 [45]

Answer:

In the last decade of the 19th century, African Americans suffered segregation, exclusion, discrimination and racism. The Civil War assured the freedom of around 4 million black people. Despite the adoption of the 14th amendment and being given legal rights to elect and be elected, black people faced huge social and political inequality.

In the South, state legislatures had passed a series of laws that impeded African Americans from participating in elections. Poll taxes and literacy tests were put in place and turned into formidable barriers for the black southern populations given their poverty and lack of education. Those were the Jim Crow laws.

In 1896, a landmark US Supreme Court decision upheld segregated but equal faciliities for different racial groups as constitutional, validating the Jim Crow laws. That was the situation of African Americans by the late 19th century.
