The Congress acts through a system of specialized standing committees in both Chambers. The Senate is the most powerful House of Congress, as its approval is required for important federal nominations and for ratification of international treaties. The president's political program needs congressional approval, with the president addressing Congress in January for an annual "state of the union" speech, as well as sending periodic "messages" and "recommendations". The success of a president in carrying out his grassroots program depends on the support of congressional voting, adjusting competencies and public support.

What nation was England's greatest rivalry?
Andreyy89

Answer:

A.) France

Explanation:

The 100 Years War, the Seven Years War, the Napoleonic War. Overall, England has a long history of war and rivalry with France.

The core of this lies in 1066, when the Duke of Normandy conquered England. From then on England moved out of the North European world and into the French world. Since England’s King was a prominent French Duke it was inevitable that England and France would play a role in each others history from then on.

And this in a way, I think is a point against France.

Why does Lincoln make so many references on the American revolution
aniked [119]

Answer:

Lincoln probably made so many referances to the American Revolution because of the Civil War at the time considering that the South wanted some sort of independance from the North because they thought they needed slavery and the American Revolution was so that America could become independant and not be ruled by Britain anymore, so that is why he probably referred a lot to the American Revolution.
