Institute of International Education: The Institute of International Education (IIE) is a 501(c) organization which focuses on International Student Exchange and Aid, Foreign Affairs, and International Peace and Security. IIE creates programs of study and training for students, educators and professionals from various sectors. Human services provides three distinct functions: social care, social control, and rehabilitation. Social Care: They assist clients in meeting their social needs. Social Control: they help them learn the right way to take care of themselves, they monitor or restrict client's independence for a time. Rehabilitation: they help to return an individual to a prior level of functioning, they enable the individual to function near or at a prior level of independence, can have a short or long term focus.
Secondary prevention aims to reduce the impact of a disease or injury that has already occurred. This is done by detecting and treating disease or injury as soon as possible to halt or slow its progress, encouraging personal strategies to prevent re injury or recurrence, and implementing programs to return people to their original health and function to prevent long-term problems.
Other actions that can guard against choking are eating at a slower pace and taking care to chew food completely. Not talking, laughing or playing around while eating will also reduce the chance of choking. Additionally, choosing foods that are easy to chew and swallow may be helpful..
