An arithmetic mean is a calculated central value of a set of numbers.

Statement A: Yes, Sasha is correct. The mean amount she makes is $58.33 in a day.

<h3>What is the mean?</h3>

The arithmetic mean is defined as the average of the numbers for the given set of numbers.

m = \dfrac { Sum\;of\;the\;terms}{Number\;of\;terms}

Given that Sasha’s daily tips this workweek were $43, $32, $65, $88, $50, and $72.

The mean is calculated as given below.

m = \dfrac { 43 + 32+ 65+ 88 + 50 + 72}{6}

m = \$58.33

The mean amount is $58.33.

Statement A: Yes, Sasha is correct. The mean amount she makes is $58.33 in a day.

The number of 8-ounce glasses of water Shane drank each day for 12 days is represented in
masha68 [24]

The histogram representing the data is attcwhwd in the picture below.

Answer:

C On exactly 25% of these days, Shane drank 3 to 4 glasses of water.

Step-by-step explanation:

The number of 8 - ounce glasses is represented on the x - axis and the number of days on the y - axis.

From the histogram ;

Shane drank 1 - 2 glasses on exactly 1 day

Shane drank 3 - 4 glasses on exactly 3 days

Shane drank 5 - 6 glasses on exactly 6 day

Total number of days = 12

60% of 12 = 7.2

On exactly 60% of the days, which is 7.2 days, number of glasses drunk isn't covered by the histogram

25% of 12 ; 0.25 * 12 = 3 days

From the histogram, number of glasses consumed is 3 - 4 glasses ; which is the only true statement about the histogram in the options given.

Please help with #6. How do I find all of the real zeros? Thank you!!!
Morgarella [4.7K]

I'm assuming you're referring to problem 6. You are asked to find the number of x intercepts or roots, which is another term for "zero". I prefer the term root or x intercept as "zero" seems misleading. Anyways, all we do is count the number of times the graph crosses the x axis. This happens 4 times as shown in the attached image below. I have marked these points in red. The graph can directly cross over the x axis, or it can touch the x axis and then bounce back. Either way, it is considered an x intercept.

<h3>Answer: there are 4 x intercepts (or 4 roots)</h3>
