The main purpose of an Inaugural Address is:

 • Present the vision of the president to the country.

What is an Inaugural Address?

This refers to the speech made by an incoming president after he has been sworn in where he states his vision for the country.

With this in mind, we can see that President Kennedy's Inaugural address was no different as he talked about the duty of the people and their collective power and strength as a nation.

Please note that your question is incomplete so I gave you a general overview so you could get a better understanding of the concept.

Title of Poem: “You are in the dark, in the car...”
ASHA 777 [7]

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

I think that the title of this poem relates to the subject of racism because when African Americans feel alone, it could feel like you are all alone in a dark car. This is a very good metaphor to how racism could feel to people. A car allows you travel to places and reach a destination. It is much more difficult to reach your destination in the dark, so this shows that they feel at a disadvantage because of the darkness, but they still have the potential to succeed because they are in the car.

I hope that this helps! Have a wonderful day! :D
