Answer:

y=0.75x+300

Step-by-step explanation:

So for this problem, I'm going to put it in slope-intercept form (only because it makes the most sense to me, plus if you need to graph it, this will be helpful)

So Jan is donating $300 first. So whatever you need to do, you need to add 300 afterwards to account for that donation. But then, Jan is going to donate $0.75 for every large coffee ordered. This is means it is a dependent variable. The amount is dependent on how many large coffees ordered.

Say, for example, there were 15 large coffees ordered. You should multiply 0.75*15, which will give you a product of 11.25. So for all the coffees ordered, Jan will donate a total of $11.25 (which isn't a lot, but that's okay). But that isn't ALL the money that Jan donated because, as stated before, Jan is going to donate $300 regardless of how many coffees ordered. So the total amount of money donated is $311.25

Hope this helps!

Give an example of a 2x2 matrix without any real eigenvalues:___________
9966 [12]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

An eigenvalue of n × n is a function of a scalar \lambda  considering that there is a solution (i.e. nontrivial) to an eigenvector x of Ax =

Suppose the matrix A = \left[\begin{array}{cc}-1&-1\\2&1\\ \end{array}\right]

Thus, the equation of the determinant (A - \lambda1) = 0

This implies that:

\left[\begin{array}{cc}-1-\lambda &-1\\2&1- \lambda\\ \end{array}\right] =0

-(1 - \lambda^2 ) + 2 = 0

-1 + \lambda ^2 + 2= 0

\lambda^2 +1 =0

Hence, the eigenvalues of the equation are \mathtt{\lambda = i , -i}

Also, the eigenvalues can be said to be complex numbers.

Mr. Taylor weighs 300 pounds. He went on the Subway diet and was guaranteed to lose 5 pounds per week. Write an equation that co
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

1.) 300 - 5w = 150

2.) 30 weeks

Step-by-step explanation:

w = weeks on the diet

if every week he's on the diet, that means that the weeks * 5 is how many pounds he loses. If he's on the diet one week then he loses 5 pounds. 2 weeks then 10 pounds... etc. But because he's losing punds the value is negative

He starts at 300 pounds so the y-intercept (starting value) would be 300

Finally, because he's looking to get to 150 pounds, that is the final value you're solving for

So this is your firat equation:

300 - 5w = 150

Then we are looking for when two different eqaution have the same value.

Your equation is: 60 + 7w

Her equation is: 120 + 5w

Your final equation is 60 + 7w = 120 + 5w

Solve for this by getting w on one side, and your plain old variable-less value on the other. Do this by subtracting 5w from each side, as well as 60.

Your equation is now 2w = 60

Then divide the whole equation by 2, and you get w = 30

hope this helps, be safe :)
