After his encounter with Banquo's ghost, Macbeth visits the witches, who tell him that he could not be harm my any man born of a woman.

However, in the end of the play, as he fights with Macduff, Macbeth is told that his enemy was not born of woman by "untimely ripped” from his mother’s womb.
