Hi there!

Your answer would be "There would need to be an equal number of free and slave states."

The Constitution prescribes that the Senate be composed of two senators from each State. There would need to be 25 slave states and 25 free states for there to be an equal number of senators from free states and slave states.

How is citizen participation related to the purposes of our government?
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

The purpose of the government is to serve the people's, or at least some of the people's, interests as well as security and national needs.

Explanation:

The citizen's role in this republic-democratic style government, on the other hand, must vote for the candidate that will meet the needs of what they believe that they themselves and the nation needs. Of course, the government cannot meet every individual's demand, and so it's role is to meet the demands of the majority. Without citizen participation, the government would be at best out of the loop with doing the will of the citizens, and at worse a dictatorship, in which the security & well-being of the citizens is not placed high on the list of priorities.
