what is the chance to get 4 items with 10% chance of each occurring, while there 8 items in total with other 4 items having a 90
densk [106]

Step-by-step explanation:

Simple events in probability have a certain chance of happening. For example, a 10% chance of rain today. When two or more probabilities are possible, they are added together to get the total probability. A 10% chance of snow and a 15% chance of hail would mean a 10% + 15% = 25% chance of bad weather. This article will show you how to find the probability of a simple event happening.

It takes Shelly about 25 min to walk to her grandmother’s house. She figured that she spent a total of 7 h and 30 min walking ba
pantera1 [17]
Convert the 7hrs and 30min into minutes which would be 450 minutes total. Now divide that by 25 which is 18.

So Shelly walked to her grandmother's house 18 times last month

Plz answer and im giving a lot of points ; ; oh and its two questions in one
Natali [406]
Please don't ask 2 questions in 1 question

remember that percent is parts out of 100 so x%=x/100
basically just remove the percent sign and move the decimal place 2 places to the left  to convert to fraction

the first one
20 dollars
4.75% tax
15% tip
it depends if you want to tip on the total with tax or without tax
it is better to top on the without-tax value since tax comes from you so
find 4.75% of 20 and add that to 15% of 20 then add that to 20 to get the proper value

scenarios
1. 20+(20 times 4.75%)+(20 times 15%)=23.95
2. ([(20 times 104.75%)] times 115%)=24.09
both are bellow $25 so $25 shoudl be enough to cover it

total cost of a spa treatment of 42 with 6% tax and 20% tip
so you could again do two things:
1. apply tax and give tip on the new amount
2. find the tip and add that to the tax of only 42

scenarios:
1.(42 times 106%) times 120%=$50.4
2. (42 times 20%) +(42 times 106%)=$52.92
it depens on what you tip on

Find the exact values of a) sec of theta b)tan of theta if cos of theta= -4/5 and sin<0
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

\sec\theta=-\frac{5}{4}

\tan\theta=\frac{3}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the sine function and cosine function is negative hence, the angle theta must lie in 3rd quadrant.

In 3rd quadrant, tangent and cot functions are positive.

a)

\sec\theta=\frac{1}{\cos\theta}\\\\\sec\theta=\frac{1}{-4/5}\\\\\sec\theta=-\frac{5}{4}

b)

\tan\theta=\sqrt{\sec^2\theta-1}\\\\\tan\theta=\sqrt{25/16-1}\\\\\tan\theta=\sqrt{9/16}\\\\\tan\theta=\frac{3}{4}
