First, get the area of the rectangular yard.
Area = L x W
Area = 16 X 14
Area = 224 square feet

Get the area of the circular fountain.
Area = pi x r^2
Area = 3.1415 x (4/2)^2
Area = 12.57 square feet

Getting grass portion.
224 - 12.57 = (C) 211.43 square feet

A triangular college pennant flag has a baes of 12 inches and a height of 30 inches how many square inches of wall space will yo
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

Answer:

1080 \ in^2

Step-by-step explanation:

-The cumulative area of the six is equivalent to the sum of their individual areas.

-Area of a triangle is given by:

A=\frac{1}{2}bh\\\\b-base \ length\\h-\perp Height

We substitute  given values in the equation and multiply by the number of pennants:

A=\frac{1}{2}bh\times 6\\\\=\frac{1}{2}\times 12\times 30\times 6\\\\=1080\ in^2

Hence, the total area needed is 1080 \ in^2

Change 290 degrees to radian measure in terms of pi.
Pachacha [2.7K]
So we know that  \pi = 180
So if we multiply 290 by \frac{ \pi }{180} then we can find its radians in terms of pi (if pi is 180 and you divide 180 by 180 you get one so frankly we multiplying by one so we are not breaking any mathematical rules because if you multiply an number by itself then you get back that number right ?

∴  \frac{290}{1} * \frac{ \pi }{180}

     simplify by dividing the numerator of the first term and denominator
     of the second term by 10 and then multiplying normally

    \frac{29}{1} * \frac{ \pi }{18}

∴ 290° in radians in terms of pi =  \frac{29 \pi }{18}

Does anyone know an easier way of memorizing the circle radians? Having a hard time figuring out how to study for that.
Sergio039 [100]

Explanation:

I find it easiest to remember one or two facts and use those to figure others when needed. The primary fact I remember is

  π radians = 180°

__

From this, you can determine ...

  360° = 2π radians

  90° = π/2 radians

  60° = π/3 radians

  45° = π/4 radians

  30° = π/6 radians

The other angles on your chart are multiples of 30° or 45°, so will be corresponding multiples of π/6 or π/4 radians, respectively.
