The psychoactive drug used by Frank was probably cannabis, which in the short term can cause physical symptoms such as relaxation, euphoria and neurological symptoms such as impaired motor coordination and mental capacity.

Psychoactive drug effects

By affecting brain neurotransmitters, psychoactive drugs lead to their release in their synaptic vesicles in neurons. Short-term drug use can increase blood pressure, increased heart rate, insomnia and tremors.

In the long term, it can generate serious diseases, such as cardiovascular, respiratory and liver and kidney damage.

Therefore, it is essential that, when realizing the need to manage some stress or lack of motivation, the individual does not use drugs or medications without being prescribed by a doctor. It is important to seek therapeutic help when identifying symptoms of mental disorders that could be a trigger for starting drug use.
