Number one rule of multiplication:

Anything times zero always equals zero.

Solve (-6) * 0=0

Solve 8*(-2)=

To solve this, just multiply 8 * 2 and then make the answer negative:

8*2=16\\8*(-2)=(-16)

Solve 9*(-4) =

Use the same strategy you used above to solve this equation:

9*4=36

9*(-4)=(-36)

Hope this helps!

1. 0
2.-16
3. -36

Explanation:
HI, so it’s very simple if you read this it will be really easy for you in the future! So basically, looking at it, it’s basically multiplying but what confuses you are the signs (-)(negative) and (+)(positive). All you have to know is:
Positive number x positive number = positive answer
Negative number x negative number= positive answer
Positive number x negative number= negative answer
Negative number x positive number= negative answer
And as long as you know this it will be really easy for you. So just multiply as usual normally and then according to the rules find out if the answer will be negative or positive.
Look at the following picture to understand the rules more clearly>>

What is 8+4(-6x+4)=-6-5x
sergeinik [125]
First do 4(-6x+4) distribute the 4 (So multiply each number in parenthesis by 4) so 8-24x+16=-6-5x

Then put like terms on each side

So do inverse of each number and do that to both sides to their like terms

8+16=-6+19x

Then bring the six over and add like terms

30 = 19x

Then divide 19 in each side and you get

X = 10/21

Factor x2 - 18x + 81. Show your work
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]
To factorise it start with putting the xs in brackets.
(x )(x )
Then you must find 2 numbers which multiply to +81 and sum to -18.
81 is the product of 9×9 or -9×-9.
9+9=+18
-9+-9=-18
So they two numbers must be -9.
So factorised it is (x-9)(x-9) or (x-9)^2
