Why does Persephone have to return to be Hades’ queen each year and what is the connection to pomegranates?

So basically hades was like in love with persephone (demeter goddess of agriculture) and so naturally he kidnapped her and took her to the underworld. However she ate a pomegranate and was therefore stuck in the underworld but demeter and hades made a deal to like share custody for 6 months each and that’s why we have winter cause demeter is sad without her daughter
