Using the quadratic formula, what is the value of x for x^2-4+5=0
PSYCHO15rus [73]

value of x is: x= i and x= -i

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find the value of x from x^2-4+5=0 using quadratic formula.

The term is: x^2+1=0

The quadratic formula is:

x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\\

Where a = 1, b=0,c=1

Putting values:

x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\\x=\frac{0\pm\sqrt{(0)^2-4(1)(1)}}{2(1)}\\x=\frac{\pm\sqrt{-4}}{2}\\x=\frac{\pm2i}{2}\\x=\pm i

So, value of x is: x= i and x= -i

I want to know the simple way to add fractions like I have a problem with getting the answer to 1/6+1/8=
Jobisdone [24]
You find the lowest common denominator of both fractions, which in this case is 24.
1/6 is equivalent to 4/24 and 1/8 is equivalent to 3/24.
4/24 + 3/24 = 7/24

Rewrite in simplest rational exponent form √x · 4√x. Show each step of your process. The problem is down below in the image in c
nata0808 [166]

Step-by-step explanation:

x will be raised to the power of 1 if there's no power associatiated to it. Thus, you will have to flip the numbers to turn it into exponential form

Find a rational number halfway in between the two numbers. 7/9 and 3/4<br><br>
AlekseyPX

Answer: 55/126

Step-by-step explanation:

For this equation, the easiest way to solve is to change the denominators, or bottom halves, of both fractions to be the same thing. The easiest way to do this is to multiply themselves with a “funny form” of one. A funny form of one is just a way of representing “1” with numbers that aren’t 1. “2/2” is a funny form of one. log(x)/log(x) is a funny form of one, etc..

(3/7)x(9/9)=27/63

(4/9)x(7/7)=28/63

These fractions are very close. If you are willing to settle for an unsimplified fraction, the answer here would be 27.5/63. If you aren’t willing to settle for the unsimplified form, we can multiply both fractions by a funny form of one again, most easily 2/2, and find the median of the two fractions.

(27/63)x(2/2)=54/126

(28/63)x(2/2)=56/126

The median of these two fractions is 55/126.

55/126 is exactly halfway between 3/7 and 4/9.
