Answer:

a. 1/2

b.

\frac{2\pi}{3}

c.

- \pi

d.

- 3

Step-by-step explanation:

For a function

y = a \cos (bx   -  c) + d

The amplitude is

|a|

The period is

\frac{2\pi}{ |b| }

and the phase shift is

x - c

And d is the vertical shift

Here we have

y =  \frac{1}{2}  \cos(3x + 3\pi)  - 3

The a amplitude is

| \frac{1}{2} |  =  \frac{1}{2}

To find the period, first factor out 3 from the

parenthesis

\frac{1}{2}  \cos(3(x + \pi)  - 3

\frac{1}{2}  \cos(3(x - ( - \pi) )  - 3

To find period, the period is

\frac{2\pi}{3}

The phase shift is c so here the phase shift

is

- \pi

or pi units to the left.

Here the vertical shift is -3

3. Rewrite the expression as simply as you can:<br> 3x + 11y - 2x - 4y
vfiekz [6]

Answer:

x+7y

Step-by-step explanation:

First off, lets split the question into both x and y.

3x - 2x for the x

11y - 4y for the y

You can solve both of them to get x + 7y

3x - 2x = x

11y - 4y = 7y

Then, add them back up and get x + 7y

OK SO HERES THE PROBLEM. MY BRAIN HURTS. PLZZZ help me with this math problem
jeka57 [31]

Oh Foxy, Foxy, how totally debilitated you must be !  Try to relax.  Nobody
enjoys a painful brain, and believe me, this problem is not worth it.

Let me put it to you this way:  What if the problem said . . .

-- Demarcus has $8 more than his sister.
-- His sister has $4.
-- How much money ' M ' does Demarcus have ?

If your brain didn't hurt, you could quickly solve this right in there.
You would know that Demarcus' money ' M ' = 8 + 4 .

That's <em>almost </em>exactly what the problem <em>does</em> say.
Except it doesn't say he has "$8 more than his sister",
it says he has "at least" that much.
So you know that ' M ' is not exactly = 8 + 4, but that's the <u>least</u> it could be.
The actual amount of ' M ' is <u>more</u> than that.

Surely you can handle it from here, even with half of your brain
tied behind your back.

Take a good hard look at ' A ', and then go lie down.
