Answer:

Option D. -(4x-3)(5x-2)

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

f(x)=-20x^{2}+23x-6

Equate the function to zero

-20x^{2}+23x-6=0

Group terms that contain the same variable, and move the constant to the opposite side of the equation

-20x^{2}+23x=6

Factor the leading coefficient

-20(x^{2}-(23/20)x)=6

Complete the square. Remember to balance the equation by adding the same constants to each side

-20(x^{2}-(23/20)x+(529/1,600))=6-(529/80)

-20(x^{2}-(23/20)x+(529/1,600))=-(49/80)

(x^{2}-(23/20)x+(529/1,600))=(49/1,600)

Rewrite as perfect squares

(x-(23/40))^{2}=(49/1,600)

(x-(23/40))=(+/-)(7/40)

x=(23/40)(+/-)(7/40)

x=(23/40)(+)(7/40)=30/40=3/4

x=(23/40)(-)(7/40)=16/40=2/5

therefore

-20x^{2}+23x-6=-20(x-(3/4))(x-(2/5))

-20x^{2}+23x-6=-(5)(4)(x-(3/4))(x-(2/5))

-20x^{2}+23x-6=-(4x-3)(5x-2)

It's D, it's the only one where it has a -6 at the end other than A, but if you look at the A when distributed there isn't a 23x<span />

Compare the domains of the logarithmic function f(x) and the square root function g(x).
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

The domain of the function g(x) is greater than the domain of the function f(x).

Step-by-step explanation:

The diagram shows the logarithmic function f(x). The domain of this function is

x>-3

The domain of the square root function g(x)=\sqrt{x+3}+1 is

x+3\ge 0\\ \\x\ge -3

The domain of the function g(x) is greater than the domain of the function f(x), because the set x\ge -3 contains the set x>-3 ( (-3,\infty)\subset [-3,\infty)).

The first thing to is factor the denominator of the rational function:
x^{2} -2x-3 to do this we'll need to find two number whose product is -3 and its sum is -2; those numbers are 1 and -3, so:
x^{2} -2x-3=(x+1)(x-3)
Now we can rewrite our rational function as follows:
f(x)= \frac{x-3}{(x+1)(x-3)}
Notice that we have a common factor (x-3) in both numerator and denominator; therefore we can cancel them:
f(x)= \frac{1}{x+1}

Taking all the above into consideration we realize that x=3 is a removable discontinuity; the correct answer is the first one: there is a hole in x=3 and asymptote  at x=-1.
