2) vertical angles

vertical angles are always across from each other where two lines cross

angle 6 and angle 8 are also vertical
angle 1 and angle 3 are also vertical
angle 4 and angle 2 are also vertical

hope this helps :)

Two sides of a right triangle are equal to 3m and 4m. Find the length of the third side. (Two cases)If the two given sides are b
likoan [24]
Case 1: The length of the third side (hypotenuse) is <u>5</u>m.

My Reasoning/Work:
We use the Pythagorean theorem (a^2+b^2=c^2), the two legs in the Pythagorean theorem are "a" and "b" and the third leg/the hypotenuse, is "c". 3^2+4^2=c^2
Then, we find the squares of 3 and 4, and then add them up. 9+16=25
Now that we know that the square of the third side is 25m, we now find the square root of 25. \sqrt{25}=5
The hypotenuse is 5m.

Case 2: The length of the third side (the leg) is <u>\sqrt{7}</u>m.

My Reasoning/Work:
Again, we'll use the Pythagorean theorem. a^2+b^2=c^2
This time, instead of using the "b", we're using the "a" (leg) and the "c" (hypotenuse). Because the hypotenuse is the longest side in a right triangle, we get that "c" is equal to 4m. 3^2+b^2=4^2
And now we bring down the exponents. 9+b^2=16
We now subtract 9 from both sides to leave the "b^2" alone. 9-9+b^2=16-9 \\ b^2=7
Finally, we find the square root of 7 to get the answer. But if you use a calculator to find this, you'll get an annoying answer of decimals (2.645751311064591). So, to simplify this, the answer would be \sqrt{7}.<u />

The planet Mars could be a future destination for the U.S. space program. Assume that Mars is a perfect sphere. Its surface area
Arlecino [84]
Surface area of a sphere is  4 times pi timers radius^2
aprox pi=3.14

so surface area=145,000,000

145,000,000=4 times 3.14 times rdaius^2
145,000,000=12.56 times radius^2
divide both sdies by 12.56
11544585.987=r^2
square root both sides
3397.73=radius

round to the hundreds
3397 rounded to the hundreds

the answer is D 3,4000 km

cow is tied to a tree on grazing land with a 9 -meter rope What is the longest distance around that it can cover ?
Sholpan [36]
Radius = 9m
Diameter = 18 m
Area = 254.34 squared m
Circumference = 56.52 m

I’m guessing is asking for the circumference because it says around

Solve the compound inequality. Graph the solution
romanna [79]

Answer:  Choice B

Work Shown:

-2 \le 2x-4 < 4\\\\-2+4 \le 2x-4+4 < 4+4\ \text{ ... add 4 to all sides}\\\\2 \le 2x < 8\\\\2/2 \le 2x/2 < 8/2\ \text{ ... divide all sides by 2}\\\\1 \le x < 4\\\\

This says that x is between 1 and 4; it can equal 1, but it can't equal 4.

To visually represent this, we'll have a closed circle at 1, an open circle at 4, with shading in between these circles. This is represented by graph B.
