Powers of the US Congress are implemented by the US constitution, defined by the rulings of the Supreme Court and by its own efforts. It is the chief legislative body of the US.
It has two types of powers :
1. Enumerated powers : Explicitly defined by the constitution
2. Implied powers : Powers that are assumed to exist
