Answer:

Guido D’Arezzo

Explanation:

He created a system of four-lined staves (an early version of the five-lined ones we use today), and organised pitches into groups called ‘hexachords’. He also added time signatures and invented solfege – the framework we know today as ‘do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do’.

postnew [5]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

If a singer's range is higher or lower than what can be written on the traditional way given you have to use ledger lines to notate those extra notes because they're not within the five-line staff. Ledger lines are extra lines added above or below the staff for notes that are higher or lower than the notes on the staff.

What is ragtime? how is it related to jazz?
Kruka [31]
Ragtime is usually defined as a song that is in 2/4 time or 4/4 time people usually get it confused with 3/4 time however that is considered a ragtime waltz. Ragtime is used by taking the base line and using progressive harmonic chords that may be punch or silent while the melody is carried out through the Alto,Soprano lines as it uses syncopation which makes the song being played off beat and unexpected. It's related to jazz by the fact that Jazz itself rather replaced Ragtime due to the rising amount of bands that added a unique style to the ragtime with a 70+ BPM and usually included it in many records.
