He invented dynamite.
He gave all his money to the Swedish Institute for the Nobel prize because he was accused of gaining wealth from selling weapons to warlords so he wanted to show that he is not corrupt and that he wants to help people instead of allowing them to wage war more easily.
Because that's how you get the great depression
