Answer:
"Hey..." I looked up from my hands in her direction. She glanced up at me. "I know its not easy to think like this right now but, I'll be okay" I offered her a smile. She kept quiet. looking at me a lone tear streaming down her face. " What if it isn't okay you know the what the stakes are, I dont want to lose them, (insert name here)" Her voice dropped low to a whisper, pulling her head in her knees again. "Their the closest thing to family I have left." I sighed. "You know were always here".  I said gestering to the rest of my family that was huddled in the waiting room. I leaned on my arm. "But what if you get it too" she exlaimed almost desperatly. "what if I have it?" she whispered. I soon felt sad aswell, being in her mindset myself once. "Theres a cure I know there is we just have to trust it works." Her voice quivered. "I know, I know but I cant help but-" She let out a sob. I closed the distance between us pulling her close in a almost hug. she turned to me and sobbed on my shoulder. I rubbed her back encouraging her to let it out, And that they'd be okay. Sorrow swells bottled up. Though It felt like I was convincing myself more than her.

Answer:

A. To explain why he came to Birmingham.

Explanation:

Option A is the correct choice that states King's purpose for writing this letter.

This option correct because looking at the letter, King opened it by saying. "I think I should give the reason for my being in Birmingham..."

this statement he made at the opening of the letter reveals that the purpose of his writing is to explain why he came to Birmingham.

Martin Luther King, Jr., was known as a Baptist minister. Also, he was popularly known to be a social rights activist and a leader of the American civil rights movement in the United States.
