What did John Dawson discover about coal?
irina1246 [14]

Answer:

John Dawson had discovered that if he used Coal to burn on his stove, it would last much longer than ordinary wood.

Explanation:

John Dawson has settled in a region in New Mexico that had plenty of coal deposits on the surface. After he discovered how useful it can be, he started selling coal in the local market.

It was seen as a profitable business and he eventually negotiated the sale of his estate to another company looking to develop a large base in the area.

However, things went downhill from there as the company, after buying the land, sought a legal right to evict everyone from the land, including Dawson himself.

How do the Anabaptists survive when they are unwilling to conform and unwilling to fight?
Masja [62]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The way Anabaptists survived when they were unwilling to conform and unwilling to fight was by leaving to other places of Europe or by isolating themselves to distant places in Switzerland.

The Anabaptists were a radical Protestant group in Germany and Switzerland that were the by-product of the teachings of Martin Luther and Ulrich Zwingli. Although they had no official or formal leader, they began to gain some adepts.

In 1526, Ulrich signed an agreement that stated that the Anabaptists had to be drowned in the river. This represented the disbandment of this religious group.

What was wrong with the urban machine from the progressive point of view? We're we better off with it than without it?
Aliun [14]
Problems associated with the "urban machine" were that they were undemocratic and were corrupt. They moved the political system to allow candidates to win based upon vote-buying, coercion, and other corrupt methods. They were therefore effective or ineffective depending on the relationship you had with the machine and also whether or not you wanted to see a democratic system or not.
