neverminding the dots or points on the line, we can see that the line is using a solid stroke, is a solid line, as opposed to a dashed one.

A solid line means, "the borderline is included in the inequality", so that means either ⩾ or ⩽, depending on how you'd write the expression.

so we can say

y ⩽ "some expression in x-terms here"

or we can say

"some expression in x-terms here" ⩾ y

basically the same thing.

the cat is red

and

red is the cat

same thing, depends on how you write it.

If a right triangle has a hypotenuse of length 20 units and one leg of length 16 units, find the length of the other leg. A. 12
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

12

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the Pythagorean theorem which is a^2 + b^2 = c^2

c is hypotenuse and a and b are the legs

we need to find a^2 so

a^2 + 16^2 = 20^2

a^22 + 256 = 400

then subtract 256 from 400

a^2 = 144

square root 144

= 12

How do you solve the following system of equations by eliminating the y-values? I've already solved it by eliminating the x-valu
AlexFokin [52]

Step-by-step explanation:

The coefficients of the y terms are -3 and 2.  The least common multiple of 3 and 2 is 6.  So multiply the first equation by 2 and the second equation by 3, so that the y terms have a coefficient of 6.

4x − 6y = 42

-18x + 6y = 21

The signs are opposite, so add the equations together.

-14x = 63

x = -9/2
