Violence continued until August 1995, when NATO forces began attacking the Serbs from the air, which led to the Serbs’ surrender and the end of the war in Bosnia. The Dayton Accords, signed after the war, split Bosnia into separate Serb and Muslim autonomous regions. The Serbs stayed in Bosnia.
