Christopher Columbus was in Genoa, Italy in 1451, became known as an Italian navigator who went to Spain to meet Spanish monarchy of Ferdinand II of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castile to get financial help for his expedition to find the Far East with a western ocean route. Columbus founded the New World (America) in 1492. His contributions helped in making the Spanish monarchy the most powerful in the world.
Both the economies of the middle colonies and Chesapeake were based on agricultural production for export. Both the middle and Chesapeake colonies had to pay taxes to England (the response must mention either the Navigation Acts or the mercantilist system).
