The missing piece of the expression is 2

<h3>Maximum height of the rocket</h3>

From the question, the height of the rocket above the ground in feet after t seconds is given by the function h(t) = -5t^2 + 20t -15

At maximum height, the velocity of the function is zero. Hence;

dh/dt - -5(2)t + 20
dh/dt = -10t + 20

Write the expression in vertex form as shown:

h(t) = -5t^2 + 20t -15

h(t) = -5(t^2 - 4t +3)

h(t) = -5(t^2 - 4t + 2^2 + 3 - 2^2)

h(t) = -5((t+2)^2 +5
h(t) = -5((t+2)^2 + 11

Hence the missing piece of the expression is 2

Write each compound inequality as an absolute value inequality 1.3
kakasveta [241]
Consider an absolute value inequality.

For example, 3≤|x-7|

this means that x-7 can be

i) 3,    3.4,    5,    7.5       etc

or   ii) -3,    -3.2,     -4.7    etc since these values in abs value all are ≥3

thus  the set of all values in i) is represented by x-7≥3, which means x≥10

and the set of all values in ii) is  x-7≤-3, which means x≤4.

Thus, the compound inequality is : x≥10  OR x≤4

an absolute inequality corresponding to this compound inequality is 3≤|x-7|

The dashed curve on the graph shows the initial function . What is the equation of the solid curve?
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

f(x) = sqrt(x + 6)

y = sqrt(x + 6)

x = sqrt(y + 6)

Stx^2 = y + 6

x^2 - 6 = y

red line: f(x) = sqrt(x + 6)

green line: f^-1(x) = x^2 - 6

Answer:

  • B) 700.6
  • A) 440

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Use formula:</u>

  • A = 1/2 Pa, where P-perimeter of the polygon, a- apothem

1)

  • A = 1/2(7*13.9)(14.4) = 700.56 ≈ 700.6

Correct choice is B

2)

  • A = 1/2(5*16)(11) = 440

Correct choice is A
