It helped the US Government to adapt to Modern Day times. The Elastic Clause grants the government powers that allow it to adjust to modern day society.
The Confederation Congress did not have an executive branch, responsible for implementing federal laws. It also lacked of power to regulate trade. Apart from that, it lost the respect of other nations because it was unable to solve problems. An example of this is the dispute with Spain about the border of Georgia and navigation rights on the Mississippi river.

The people Columbus encountered are known as the Tainos. The different groups that lived in the Bahamas at the time of his arrival were the Eastern, Western, and Classic Tainos; the Island-Caribs; and a small group called the Guanahatabeys. According to most recent findings, the natives were spread out among the large and small islands of the Caribbean, with the Tainos dominating the landscape.
