Answer:

( \frac{20}{7}, - \frac{12}{7} )

Step-by-step explanation:

4x - 5y = 20 → (1)

2x + y = 4 → (2)

subtract 2x fro both sides in (2)

y = 4 - 2x → (3)

substitute y = 4 - 2x into (1)

4x - 5(4 - 2x) = 20 ( distribute parenthesis and simplify left side )

4x - 20 + 10x = 20

14x - 20 = 20 ( add 20 to both sides )

14x = 40 ( divide both sides by 14 )

x = \frac{40}{14} = \frac{20}{7}

substitute this value into (3)

y = 4 - 2(\frac{20}{7} ) = \frac{28}{7} - \frac{40}{7} = - \frac{12}{7}

solution is ( \frac{20}{7} , - \frac{12}{7} )

What is the approximate surface area of a cylinder with a radius of 3 inches and a height of 10 inches?
xxMikexx [17]
245in^2

Curved surface = 2pi x r x h = 2 x 3.1 x 3 x 10 = 186
2 ends = 2 x (Pi x r x r) = 2 x 3.1 x 3 x 3 = 55.8
Total area = 186 + 55.8 = 242in^2 approximately

Please help with very easy math teach me to understand and I'll give brainliest
podryga [215]
You would use the Pythagorean theorem A squared plus B squared equals C squared so you would for example do 5 squared plus 6 squared equals 8 squared so then in your calculator you would put five squared +6 squared see what that equals then do another thing and put eight squared and if it equal each other than it can make a right angle
