More trust and empathy since they were willing to give their lives for their country, when all they found when they returned was segregation and bullying from people who stayed at home comfortable when the African Americans that had fought, fought for their life in the battle grounds and the White Americans wouldn’t even thank them for their service.

The Thirty Years’ War in Central Europe began when
VARVARA [1.3K]

Answer:

The Thirty Years' War was primarily fought in Central Europe between 1618 and 1648. Estimates of the total number of military and civilian deaths which resulted range from 4.5 to 8 million, the vast majority from disease or starvation. In some areas of Germany, it has been suggested up to 60% of the population died.[14]

Until 1938, the war was usually presented as a German conflict; this changed when historian CV Wedgwood argued it formed part of a wider, ongoing European struggle, with the Habsburg-Bourbon conflict at its centre.[15] This is now the generally accepted view, with related conflicts such as the 1568–1648 Eighty Years War, the 1635-59 Franco-Spanish War, and the 1629–31 War of the Mantuan Succession.[16]

What does Henry mean, exactly, when he says that the colonists “have no election”?
andrey2020 [161]

Answer- Henry seeks to engage his audience by showing his respect for them. He recognizes and compliments the patriotism and abilities of the other members of the Convention in his first sentence (note that Henry continues to address the body as the House). He prepares his audience by expresses the hope that they will show him the same respect when he states in sentence 2, "I hope it will not be thought disrespectful..." Even though he will be speaking contrary to what has been previously presented, he reminds his audience that they are all colleagues by referring to the entire group, as in sentence 6, "we can hope to arrive at the truth."
