Answer:

In the immediate years after World War II, Josef Stalin sought a more flexible, geostrategic approach to advancing Soviet interests abroad, according to Stanford historian Norman Naimark.

Stalin didn’t plan to have an Iron Curtain descend across Europe, Naimark said. Instead, the Soviet premier sought a more open and flexible approach to his foreign policy, even with neighboring countries such as Finland, Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Black_prince [1.1K]

The creation of cities allowed people to store surplus food production and minimize the transport costs for goods and services.. Cities housed fleeing people from attacks and violence with the protection of their walls. They were also cultural hearths for starting new lives.Cities were at the center of all early civilizations. People from surrounding areas came to cities to live, work, and trade. ... In the 1860 election, why did abraham lincoln gain the support of most of the antislavery forces in the u.s.?
Marysya12 [62]
So, why did Abraham Lincoln gain the support of most of the antislavery forces in the US? Let me tell you: he definitely did NOT cut a deal with the proslavery forces of the south that allowed them to secede. (D is wrong) And contrary to popular belief, he was willing to let slavery be in the South to keep the peace, though he didn't like it. (B is wrong) And the other candidates weren't all in favor of expanding slavery. (A is wrong)

BUT, the others had no problem with LETTING it expand. So, many of the abolitionists rallied behind Lincoln, who wanted to KEEP slavery in the South. He was the closest thing they had to an anti-slavery candidate! C is right!

Answer: the other candidates had no problem with allowing slavery to expand to new states.
