Which immigrants’ experiences reflected the message of The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus and which did not?
Brrunno [24]

Answer:

When the Statue of Liberty was finished in 1886, it was an image of fellowship with France, and a festival of big government and the finish of American subjugation. It was not, in any case, the image of welcome to the worlds drained and clustered masses that it is today.

To de Laboulaye, the finish of American subjugation was the last advance in the US turning into a reference point of majority rules system to the world, clarifies George Tselos, head documenter for the statue and neighboring Ellis Island.

Do you agree with historians who have argued that Sparta was a forerunner of contemporary government system or would this be a m
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

One can´t agree with those opinions. They can be misleading.

Sparta was a militaristic state was ruled by two kings and a council of elders, and whose focus was to prepare its citizens for war. It was not a democracy. The Greek city-state that is usually referred to as the first democracy of history was Athens. During its times of splendor, a city council openly debated issues in Athens. Though only free citizens - slaves were excluded - could take part, it was a unique case of an open political system, because tyrannical rule by emperors or kings was the norm on those days.
