Answer:

The function of the appendix is unknown. One theory is that the appendix acts as a storehouse for good bacteria, “rebooting” the digestive system after diarrheal illnesses. Other experts believe the appendix is just a useless remnant from our evolutionary past.

____________ schedules produce the lowest levels of responding.
eduard
The answer is FR schedule or fixed ratio schedule. It is a timetable of fortification where a reaction is strengthened simply after a predefined number of reactions. Basically, the subject gives a set number of reactions and after that, the mentor offers a reward. One preferred standpoint of this kind of calendar is that it creates a high, enduring rate of reacting with just a concise delay after the conveyance of the reinforcer.

Limiting contact between gamma rays and healthy tissue is important because?
Nataly [62]
Gamma ray is high-frequency electromagnetic radiation. It is known that gamma rays are able to damage DNA molecules in the cells by interrupting DNA strands. That characteristic of gamma rays is used in the treatment of tumors. An idea was that gamma rays will damage DNA molecules of tumor cells and, consequently, prevent uncontrollably divisions of tumor cells. But, in treatments, it is very important to limit contact between gamma rays and healthy tissue. This way it will be minimized damage of DNA molecules in healthy cells.

Can someone give me a good start for an essay with the topic of "Breast Cancer"? Thank you.
REY [17]
There is a lot of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer every day but they usually do not know a lot about it in terms of how it forms and the many ways it can be treated. Breast cancer is a very serious disease that shouldn’t be taken lightly; if it is left untreated it can spread to other organs and eventually kill you. Even if you do not have breast cancer, chances are that you know or will know someone who will get it, so it is imperative that people understand how breast cancer forms, know the stages of breast cancer, be familiar with who gets breast cancer and how you can possibly avert it, and understand all of the different ways to treat cancer and prevent it from coming back.

Breast cancer always begins with a tumor much like most other forms of cancer. As normal body cells, or DNA, grow and divide, abnormalities occur sometimes but in normal incidences, those cells are detected by the body or ribosome so the cell then repairs itself or it will disable the DNA and die. Body cells develop and divide often during the early stages of life after that cells only divide when there are cells to replace from dying or worn out cells from injuries or viruses. Cancer cells develop from damage in DNA. Cancer cells are not detected as “abnormal,” therefore, they continue to grow and divide without being destroyed by the body. Cancer cells have a damaged ability to bond to one another which means that the cells can’t tell each other to stop dividing when there are too many of them; they just keep trying to fill the space which results in a mass of cells forming a tumor. A tumor can either be malignant or benign. A malignant tumor continues to grow and divides rapidly and it may become life. Hope that helped
