Conspirators planned to kill Ceasar before he left for Parthia on March 18, 44 BCE. They took time, numbers, and polictics into account when planning the murder. Ceaser would leave for Parthia, and be gone for several months, so the conspirators had to act quickly. Despite, the lack of a long time to plan, they pulled it off.
