What is a beneficial association between the roots of a plant and a fungus?
Gnom [1K]

Answer: Mycorrhiza

Explanation: Mycorrhiza is a symbiotic relationship between a plant and a fungi. Nearly 80 percent of all plants with root systems participate in this mutualistic relationship. In mycorrhiza, the fungus forms a haustoria that penetrates the cell walls of the plant's roots. The fungus absorbs all the nutrients from the roots as they are transported to the plant. In return, the fungus gives the plant necessary chemicals and minerals that it cannot properly reach on its own.

During pregnancy, the changes in the milk glands and ducts of the breast occur because of the influence of ____.
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

Prolactin

Explanation:

It is produced by the pituitary gland and stimulates the development of the mammary ducts to produce lactation milk especially in the latter stages of pregnancy (from third trimester). This is in preparation for birth so that the child can suckle when born. The levels of prolactin are regulated by estrogen levels in the blood and when progesterone levels fall during end of pregnancy.

does sexual selection result in organisms becoming optimally adapted to their environments? Explain your reasoning
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

yes, sexual reproduction leads to the selection of better individuals for a particular environment

Explanation:

Natural selection can be defined as a mechanism associated with the survival and reproduction of individuals better adapted to their environment. Sexual reproduction is able to increase genetic variation, which is the primary source on which natural selection works. In consequence, individuals that exhibit an evolutionary adaptive phenotypic variant will have more chance to survive and to reproduce than those individuals with other less adaptive traits, thereby leading to evolution of the population and tending to optimize phenotypic variants for particular environmental conditions.

If a leaf branch of a healthy potted plant is covered a polythene bag tiny water droplets are seen .why does this happen ? Which
n200080 [17]
When the leaf branch is covered with a polythene bag, tiny water droplets are seen because of transpiration. The leaves lose access amount of water present in the plant through this process. Stomata ( small pores present on the surface) of the leaves are responsible for this.
