The formula is:  a^2 + b^2 = c^2

a and b are sides

c is the hypothesis

A leg is another way of saying a side.

5^2 + 7^2 = c^2

25 + 49 = x^2

sqrt(74) = sqrt(x^2)

sqrt(74) inches = hypothesis

9^2 + b^2 = 25^2
