Expression consist of numbers, variables, and mathematical operations. The equation that is true is x²+mx+m= (x+2)².

What is an Expression?

In mathematics, an expression is defined as a set of numbers, variables, and mathematical operations formed according to rules dependent on the context.

As it is given that the x²+mx+m is a perfect square trinomial, and we know that the general equation of perfect square trinomial is given as,

ax²+bx+c=0

where a,b and c are real numbers, and a≠0,

if we compare the equation with our equation

ax^2+bx+c=0\\x^2+mx+m=0

We will get the value of 'a' as 1, b=c=m, therefore, we need a binomial which is when expanded then in its perfect square trinomial the value of b=c, therefore, the only feasible option here is (x+2)².

Hence, the equation that is true is x²+mx+m= (x+2)².

What is the value of y in the equation 4(5y − 8 − 2) = 185 − 15? 8. 5 9. 7 10. 5 42. 5.
Bezzdna [24]

Answer:

10.5 is the answer

Step-by-step explanation:

4(5y−8−2)=185−15

(4)(5y)+(4)(−8)+(4)(−2)=185+−15(Distribute)

20y+−32+−8=185+−15

(20y)+(−32+−8)=(185+−15)(Combine Like Terms)

20y+−40=170

20y−40=170

20y−40+40=170+40

20y=210

20y/20=210/20

y=21/2

y=10.5

Whats a line passing
through the
points (0, 0) and
(5,-7)?
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

y = -7/5x

Step-by-step explanation:

First, we need to use the two points to find the slope.

m = y₁ - y₂ / x₁ - x₂

m = -7 - 0 / 5 - 0

m = -7/5

Now we know that the slope is -7/5. Now we'll substitute the information we've gathered into the point-slope form equation to get an equation.

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - (-7) = -7/5(x - 5)

y + 7 = -7/5x + 7

y = -7/5x

Therefore, the equation of the line is y = -7/5x.
