It’s -5/4 because you first move the 6x witch makes it negative the move the 5 which makes it -5 you get -5=4x so you divide -5 by 4 witch is -5/4

1. Suzette ran and biked for a total of 44.75 mi in 4 h. Her average running speed was 6.5 mph and
Andru [333]

Suzette ran for 1.6 hours and biked for 2.4 hours.

Let x = total hours Suzette ran.

Let y = total hours Suzette biked.

The equation to solve the question will be:

x + y = 4 ...... i

6.5x + 14y = 44.75 ....... ii

From i, y = 4 - x

Put the value of y into equation ii

6.5x + 14y = 44.75

6.5x + 14(4 - x) = 44.75

6.5x + 56 - 14x = 44.75

Collect like terms

6.5x - 14x = 44.75 - 56

-7.5x = -11.25

x = 11.25/7.5

x = 1.6 hours

Since x + y = 4

1.6 + y = 4

y = 4 - 1.6

y = 2.4 hours.

Suzette ran for 1.6 hours and biked for 2.4 hours.

What is 6C3? As in, how many ways can you choose 3 objects out of 6 objects, where order DOES NOT matter?
marysya [2.9K]
You could find this by doing 6 * 5 * 4, or 6 choices * 5 choices * 4 choices = total choice combinations.
6*5*4 = 120

If 3x^2 -2x+7=0, then(x-1/3)^2=
Harman [31]
3x² - 2x + 7 = 0.

Using method of completing the square.

3x² - 2x = 0 - 7

3x² - 2x = -7          Divide through by 3.

x² - 2/3x = -7/3   ...........(d)

Coefficient of x = -2/3,  half of it = 1/2*-2/3 = -1/3    square of it = (-1/3)² = 1/9

We add (1/9) to both sides of equation (d)

x² - 2/3x = -7/3

x² - 2/3x + 1/9 = -7/3 + 1/9

We factorize it by making using of half of the coefficient, -1/3

(x - 1/3)² = -7/3 + 1/9

(x - 1/3)² = -20/9

That's the answer as asked by the question. -20/9
