PLZ HELP WILL GIVE BRAINLISEST AND 100 POINTS! What conclusion would you draw if a seismogram from a particular seismic station

showed only P waves?

Not sure

The first waves to be recorded by the seismogram are P-waves since they are the fastest. S-waves come in next and are usually larger than P-waves. The surface waves arrive just after the S-waves.

When an action potential arrives at the axon terminal of a motor neuron, which ion channels open?
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

Calcium voltage gated ion channels

Explanation:

There are two types of ion channels involved in the neuromuscular junction and end plate potentials: voltage-gated ion channel (responsive to changes in membrane voltage which cause the voltage gated ion channel to open) and ligand-gated ion channel (responsive to certain molecules such as neurotransmitters).

The resting membrane potential of a motor neuron goes from -70mV to -50 with a higher concentration of sodium outside and a higher concentration of potassium inside. When an action potential propagates down a nerve and reaches the axon terminal of the motor neuron, the change in membrane voltage causes the calcium voltage gated ion channels to open allowing for an influx of calcium ions. These calcium ions cause the acetylcholine vesicles to release acetylcholine via exocytosis into the synaptic cleft.

I hope you find this information useful and interesting! Good luck!

Use this information to answer questions 6 - 11. Your original population of
grigory [225]

Answer:

1. How did the tidal wave affect the predicted frequencies of the alleles in the population?

No changes

2. What is the frequency of the recessive allele?

q= 0.6

Explanation:

If we assume that all individuals were equally likely to be wiped out, that means the frequency/ratio of the gene and genotype of the population will not change. The tidal wave killing 100 out of 200, so it simply makes the population become half of it used to be.

If the population at equilibrium, we can use the Hardy-Weinberg formula to find out the expected frequency of the dominant and recessive alleles. There are 36 homozygous recessives out of 100, so the frequency of the recessive allele will be:

q^2 = 36/100

q= √36/100= 6/10= 0.6
