five \ eighths \to \frac{5}{8} \\\\ eleven \ twelves \to \frac{11}{12} \\\\ \frac{5}{8}^{(3}+\frac{11}{12}^{(2}= \\\\ =\frac{15}{24}+\frac{22}{24}= \\\\ =\boxed{\boxed{\frac{37}{24}}}

5/8 + 11/12
make the denominator the same
48 divided by 12 = 4
48 divided by 8 = 6
5 x 6 = 30
11 x 4 = 44
30/48 + 44/48
30 + 44 = 74
74 - 48 = 26
So the answer is 1 and 26/48 in its proper form.
Simplified, it would be 1 and 13/24. Mixed = 37/24 since you'll be adding 24.

What is the length of missing side IH? ROUND answer to nearest tenth please.
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

56.27 in

Step-by-step explanation:

You can determine the length of the missing side IH by using sine law.

In the form of a/sinA = b/sinB = c/sinC, you can substitute an angle and its corresponding side, which in this case is angle I and side i, and do so with the other angle, which is angle X and side x.

<u>    74    </u>  = <u>    IH   </u>

sin97        sin49

after this, multiply both sides by sin49 to isolate side IH -

(sin49) x <u>   74   </u> = IH

               sin97

now plug all the numbers into a calculator and you will get the answer, 56.26792; when rounded, it should be 56.27 in.

Determine whether the vectors u and v are parallel, orthogonal, or neither. u = &lt;6, -2&gt;, v = &lt;8, 24&gt;
Leno4ka [110]
Because 6 * 8 + ( - 2 )* 24 = 48 - 48 = 0 , the vectora u and v are orthogonal ;
