What is a long term effect of the discovery of oil at Spindletop in 1901?
Scorpion4ik [409]

Answer:

It transitioned the economy of Texas from agricultural to industrial, because before, there were cattle ranges and mostly focused on the cotton and cattle industries. They would herd the cattle up to Kansas where cows would be shipped off to the East.

The cattle and cotton industry was very profitable most of the time, which led to them being the main attraction.

There were some people who thought, "Hey! Imma just start drilling for oil in some place that I just bought because why not!"

Then they hit oil and created a massive influx of profit, which led to other people thinking, "Hey! Deez people made a lotta dolla bills yall so Imma copy them!"

Finally, people started drilling for oil all over the place (even in their backyards) and transitioned the economy to oil and coal mining.

Even during WW2, miners were drilling for oil to power their fighting machines.

How do you feel about the strunggle of the global after world war 11?
kirill [66]

Answer:

Pretty bad.

Explanation:

If this is WW2 we're talking about, we have to remember that the US and the USSR were actually allies during the war. However, once they took down Germany, tensions grew. The US had a capitalistic economy while the USSR had communism. These different viewpoints fueled the Cold War and many people thought the human race would end via the detonation of atomic bombs.

What happened to the south's economy during the civil war
Eva8 [605]
The South's economy was completely devastated by the Civil War, since their economy had been almost entirely agricultural--meaning that they needed to implement entirely new economic programs after the North's victory.

Do you think that a general's win- loss record on the battlefield is the best gauge of measuring greatness as a military leader?
kvv77 [185]
Answer: A general's win-loss record is only one thing to ponder upon. There are other factors. One is the competency of the opposition. So a lackluster general may fight an even worse general and end up looking good by winning. Weather may be a factor. A good general with a good plan may still lose because of bad weather. Good generals with good plans may be defeated may be defeated by an army with better weapons. There's also reputation to consider. Grant fought and won more than he lost. Other generals still complained to Lincoln about him saying he drank. Lincoln stayed with him saying he was needed because he fought. Lee may have been a better general than Grant but he did not have as many men and his men were poorly fed and supplies were inadequate.
