Answer: M. The Judicial branch determined whether or not laws were to be executed.

Explanation: Marshall is making a point that it's up to the courts not to politicians to decide what is and what isn't constitutional. Prior to the Supreme Court's landmark ruling in Marbury v. Madison 1803, the judicial branch of government was extraordinarily weak. It could interpret the law but did not have the final say on whether a specific law was constitutional or not.

How can one individual’s experience reflect the struggles of an entire nation? I’m doing James Madison for U.S history
Jlenok [28]

Answer:

 • The United States is always considered one of the most developed countries across the globe and the reason is that it never forgets those who helped in building this great country. Each individual who works inside a team for the same cause can be also rewarded with equal effort as to the whole team, this means either a person belongs to a team of individual or he/she works in a more isolated way the experiences shared are the same for all of them as same for that person in a given situation.
 • The United States was made great by the efforts of the great founding fathers and James Madison was one of those few for the development of the greater United States that gave up on all his priorities but to make this country one of the most amazing country to live in today.
 • As, it was James Madison who exercised the efforts to provided the frame work its most important part by working for the basic rights of each American.
 • Along, with that he made it easy for the people of Philadelphia to be a part of greater United States and contributed to making many great deals inside the US history to make them more effective.

Which historical event affected John Locke's understanding of government
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

The Glorious Revolution

Details:

The Glorious Revolution in England was led by members of Parliament against King James II, who had tried to assert greater power and control for himself as king, infringing on their rights. The "revolution" was a change in government, mostly without violence. In June of 1688, seven highly-placed Englishmen sent a letter of invitation to William of Orange (who was husband to James II's daughter Mary), inviting him to come to England and be supported by them and the people as king. As king and queen, the new rulers of England became known as William III and Mary II.

The Glorious Revolution showed that the people could pursue a change of ruling power. English philosopher John Locke wrote his Second Treatise on Civil Government in the wake of the Glorious Revolution, advocating that the people had the right to change a government if the government was not properly serving the people whom it governed. Locke believed people are born as blank slates--with no preexisting knowledge or moral leanings. Experience then guides them to the knowledge and the best form of life, which includes choosing to form governments--and replace governments if necessary--to make society better and to protect their rights. This was his application of the "social contract" theory.

Additional note: Leaders in the American colonies became fans of the philosophy of John Locke, and believed they had the right to pursue a change in government and free themselves from control of Great Britain.
