  • Multiple Roots
  • Standard Form: ax² + bx + c = 0
  • Quadratic Formula: \displaystyle x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

<u>Algebra II</u>

  • Imaginary Root <em>i</em> = √-1

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

<em>Identify</em>

2x² + x + 67 = 0

<em>a</em> = 2

<em>b</em> = 1

<em>c</em> = 67

<u>Step 2: Solve for </u><em><u>x</u></em>

  1. Substitute in variables [Quadratic Formula]:                                                  \displaystyle x=\frac{-1 \pm \sqrt{1^2-4(2)(67)}}{2(1)}
  2. Multiply:                                                                                                             \displaystyle x=\frac{-1 \pm \sqrt{1^2-4(2)(67)}}{2}
  3. [√Radical] Evaluate exponents:                                                                       \displaystyle x=\frac{-1 \pm \sqrt{1-4(2)(67)}}{2}
  4. [√Radical] Multiply:                                                                                           \displaystyle x=\frac{-1 \pm \sqrt{1-536}}{2}
  5. [√Radical] Subtract:                                                                                          \displaystyle x=\frac{-1 \pm \sqrt{-535}}{2}
  6. [√Radical] Simplify:                                                                                           \displaystyle x=\frac{-1 \pm i\sqrt{535}}{2}

PLEASE HELP ME ! (I AM TERRIBLE AT MATH)
Mashutka [201]
It looks as though there are 25 21-40 year-olds. 40% of 25 is 10, this is the amount that are AGAINST the increase. Therefore the ones in favor for the increase must be 25 - 10 = 15.

You should be able to follow the same process to get the 41-60 year-olds against an increase. Just be sure to read the given information carefully

22 random samples were selected from a population that has a normal distribution the sample has a mean of 99 and a standard devi
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

(96.91, 101.09)

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate the interval, you require the Z value at 95% confidence interval. The Z value is 1.96. The formula to calculate the confidence interval:

X-Zs/\sqrt{x} \\X+Zs/\sqrt{x}

Where X is the mean and s is the standard deviation and x the sample size:

99-1.96\cdot{5}/\sqrt{22} \\99+1.96\cdot{5}/\sqrt{22}

The interval is (96.91, 101.09)
